The University is the most important forum for discussing matters of policing in Germany and is actively involved in security research on a national, EU and international level.
How they are organised
The University’s fifteen units train senior police officers in the accredited M.A. Course “Public Administration – Police Management”. In addition to the M.A. course, the DHPol conducts user-oriented, customised and state of the art further training courses. Internationally, the university cooperates within the network of police universities.
For the IN-PREP project, DHPol expertise is focused on police crisis management and police operational training which includes threat, crisis and disaster management; civil protection and cooperation and collaboration with other rescue and emergency services.
Role in the project
The DHPol supports the IN-PREP exercises and demonstrations with a specific focus on the definition of the evaluation protocol and key performance indicators (KPIs). They support the end users/stakeholder recruitment process and the collection of end-user requirements. They also contribute to the final IN-PREP evaluation and the Crisis Management Handbook.
