AIR Worldwide, a Verisk Analytics business, founded the catastrophe modelling industry in 1987 and provides catastrophe risk modelling for natural disasters and terrorism throughout the world.
How they are organised?
They are a worldwide organisation with 9 offices based in North America, Europe and Asia.
AIR contribute to advanced science and devise software and consulting services for catastrophe risk management, insurance-linked securities, site specific engineering analyses and agricultural risk management. They have vast experience in catastrophe modelling including the development of stochastic event sets and vulnerability functions. Their clients include government agencies, insurers and re-insurers who require bespoke vulnerability functions for niche lines of business and developing countries, for natural and manmade disasters.
Role in the project
AIR participate in 4 technical work packages. They will adapt their Touchstone™ platform APIs to facilitate smooth information exchange in the field integration of the IN-PREP demonstrations and exercises. AIR will use their models developed for earthquakes, terrorism and wildfire for the impact assessment layer of the Mixed Reality Preparedness Platform specifically on the estimation of blast attenuation distances.
